Conservation and Environmental Efforts

In an effort to be kinder to our planet, we are doing our part for conservation and our office has undertaken the following steps:

  • When making routine appearances (at longer-distance venues and with client's permission), we call into the court via CourtCall which allows us to save the time and energy required to make an appearance (and saves our clients to boot by reducing billable hours)

  • When we are required to make long-distance car travel gas and emissions-saving economical hybrids are used. Mr. Marcin and one of the associates have Honda Civic Hybrids which get 45+ miles to the gallon and encourage others to borrow these cars for longer drives

  • When traveling, we are making efforts to use public transportation

  • Most days of the week, the attorneys and staff either "brown bag" lunch, or eat local. This means there are twenty some-odd less cars on the road and in our own small way we reduce carbon dioxide emissions

  • All computers in our office are Energy Star equipment for power consumption effectiveness. All equipment in our office, including our fax machine and copier, go into power-save mode when idle for more than 15 minutes.

  • We no longer offer bottled water. We are serving water from our permanently-installed reverse osmosis water filtration system. Water will be served in glasses that will be washed in our Energy Star dishwasher. Coffee or Tea will no longer be served in paper cups – all our beverages are served in mugs and glasses.

  • All copy paper is 100% recycled. All our letterhead is printed on recycled paper

  • We have reduced the intake of books for our law library – we have chosen, where possible, to get research, updates, etc. on-line

  • All paper products (including documents that are shredded) are placed in the building recycle bins

  • We have instituted accounting systems that enable us to electronically transmit payments, saving gas, paper, and other resources used in delivering mail (if you are a client, just ask)

  • We have installed light sensors in the hallways and in each of our offices and each light turns off when the office is idle for more than 15 minutes

These are just a few ways we are trying to make a small difference to our community and our environment.

Charity and Pro-Bono Efforts

We generously give to various charities, including the American Cancer AssociationCASA Foundation ,Muscular Dystrophy Association , California Wildlife Center , and the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Nevada SPCA, 4800 W Dewey Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89118). (We say this not to boast, but to encourage other local law firms to generously give likewise).

We take on a number of pro-bono cases and get exceptional results. We participate in programs in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas for the referral of such work.

German Referandar Program

Although we work with the Boyd School of Law, Pepperdine, Loyola, Southwestern, UCLA, and Whittier Law Schools (to name a few) to train students through intern programs (paying programs that teach law students what law is really about), we also are proud to participate in a joint program with the German Government that brings German law students in for training and experience in American Law.

An internship at Marcin Lambirth, LLP gives the Referander the opportunity to experience the excitement of an American working environment in a very modern law firm. We expect the Referandar to be a full member of the team from the day s/he joins us. The Referandar will be given the responsibility and will work on client files in conjunction with a partner or associate. We aim to involve our Referandar in the firm’s practice as much as possible, which includes going to court (with us), sitting in depositions (court-testimony taken before court reporters in lawyer’s offices), drafting memoranda, and doing legal research. We promise to make your time with us as useful to you as it is to us!

Wir wuerden uns freuen, von Ihnen zu hoeren!

German law student candidates interested in an internship with us are welcome to send a cover letter and curriculum vitae to Mr. Marcin at jbm@marcin.com.
