Mr. Lambirth is our senior strategist and was formerly managing partner of Ivanjack & Lambirth LLP in Los Angeles, California where he worked for over 22 years. His practice has always focused on the representation of financial institutions, businesses and individuals caught up in commercial disputes.
Mr. Lambirth has been trying cases since 1978. He has tried over 100 matters, 20 before juries, 19 of which involved the defense of a bank or bank officer. He has successfully defended large and small financial institutions before juries, including Bank of America, Great Western Bank, California Korea Bank and International Bank of California.
Mr. Lambirth is board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a civil trial advocate. He graduated from the University of California at Riverside in 1974 with honors and obtained a BA degree in Political Science and a BA degree in Urban Studies. He graduated from Whittier Law School in 1978 cum laude where he was founding editor of its Law Review. Mr. Lambirth is a member of the State Bar of California, and a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of California and the District of Columbia. He has an "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell.
In 2004 the Whittier Law School Alumni Association named Mr. Lambirth "Business Lawyer of the Year." He was voted "Super Lawyer" in banking and finance category by a general survey which was conducted and published by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazines for the last 6 years. He was one of four invited speakers, and the only trial attorney, before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee regarding "The Fairness in Punitive Damages Act," in July 1998. He was on the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Provisional and Post-Judgment Remedies Section for seven years. Mr. Lambirth is lead columnist of "Big Money," a column which has appeared bi-monthly in a state bar magazine since 2003. He was a round table sponsor and panelist discussing "California Civil Jury Instructions," which was written up in California Litigation Magazine in the spring of 2004. Mr. Lambirth has authored numerous articles and is a frequent speaker. He sits on the Whittier College Board of Trustees, and the boards of other non-profit and profit entities.
