After having proudly served in the United States Air Force, Mr. Bentley graduated cum laude in 2005 from Florida International University with degrees in International Relations and Asian Studies.  He then attended Whittier Law School, where he was awarded the Admissions Merit and Dean’s Merit Scholarships, was a published member of the Whittier Law Review, and graduated magna cum laude.  Prior to graduating from Whittier Law School, Mr. Bentley served as an extern to the Honorable R. Gary Klausner of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, where he drafted rulings on motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and other matters before the court.  During law school, Mr. Bentley also served as an extern with the Los Angeles Legal Aid Foundation, assisting low-income income clients with government benefits.  Mr. Bentley also served as an intern with the Los Angeles Offices of the Public Defender, assisting public defenders with representation of clients charged with a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony offenses. 

Following his graduation from Whittier Law School in 2008, Mr. Bentley served as a research attorney for civil departments at the downtown Los Angeles Superior Court writing proposed tentative decisions and assisting the judges with research and rulings.  While there, Mr. Bentley drafted tentative rulings on a broad range of civil motions, ranging from demurrers to complex civil procedure motions, and motions for summary judgment. 

Mr. Bentley is an active member of the State Bar of California.
